We’re all feeling a little lost right now. At least I know I am. Vacillating between complete shock and protective numbing, it’s hard to know where to turn to make a difference. Longing for community and connection, but not sure if I have the bandwidth to sustain it. Feeling tapped out, numbed out, just getting through the day, holding my breath and bracing for the next onslaught.

I’m not ready to give up the fight. I won’t back down and succumb to the comfort of my privilege, (although it is quite comfortable—sickeningly comfortable—with just the right filters.) But I also can’t sustain the level of grief and rage that is called for with each and every injustice that deserves my attention.

So how do we stay present? How do we keep the fire burning just hot enough to sustain motivation without burning out and succumbing to the numbness of perpetual scrolling?

We Tend the Fire

We get intentional about how we nourish ourselves and who we connect with to keep us going. We feed ourselves what we really need instead of what just gets us through the day. In this live, monthly Zoom, we’ll look at three aspects of our daily life that need both nurturing and growth. We’ll look at where we can fill ourselves up so that we can have what we need to reach out of our comfort zone to engage with the change we want to see in the world.

This space is for anyone who’s been feeling a little lost in the political landscape and is in need of guided grounding. This space is for anyone feeling burnt out with the constant onslaught of news and media but who doesn’t want to disengage entirely. If you’ve been looking to kindle hope and connection but aren’t sure where to find it, this space is for you.

What to expect:

  • Meditation and visualization

  • Guided journaling

  • Resource-sharing

  • Community building

This is a space where you can come to replenish. Where nothing will be asked of you. Connect if you feel called, but most of all, just be present for yourself. Fill yourself up so that you can reach forward and keep fighting.

I’ve been feeding my fire. It’s bright, warm and strong enough to share. So come sit with me. Claim your place by the fire. I’m calling you out to call you in.

Come nourish yourself by my fire as we weave a new world.

*This is a recurring monthly Zoom. So even if you can’t make it this month, sign up for on-going updates and access.

I will not be complacent.
I will grieve, but—
I will not wallow in my grief without giving voice to my rage.
I will grieve and like the phoenix I will rise from the ashes of my tears.
I am not afraid to look into my depths to uncover what needs to be rooted out.
I will join with my sisters as we strive
As we dismantle
As we burn ourselves and those around us
And are reborn.
As we rebuild, and birth into being a new world
Where our daughters (and sons) are safe.
